At Kingwood Christian Church we follow Jesus by serving compassionately and including all. When we say ALL are welcome here, we mean it. Our inclusive community includes all kinds of people from all walks of life, from different places, with different political beliefs, in different places on their faith journey, but we are all moving and flowing in the same direction. We follow Jesus, serving, loving, and caring for all.
We were hopeful about KWCC when we heard the Welcome Statement in The Table service but wondered if those values would really be lived out. When our Queer family arrived for worship, we were welcomed warmly and invited to participate fully! KWCC lives out its values and has shown genuine love and support for my family. - A Church Member
KWCC guided my faith journey and helped me develop leadership skills in my youth. Then they embraced my multiethnic family in adulthood. Now my children are also developing faith and leadership in and through KWCC. – Lindy
We embrace the differences in our congregation and our community as we do ministry together. Different. Together.
Kingwood Christian Church has been described by members new and old as a transformative place. The diversity of our congregation is a dazzling spectrum reflected in our traditional and contemporary worship service styles. We worship, learn, and serve together as one community in Christ, but we acknowledge that we are all in a different place on our faith journey. We grow together as a community and do life together through Sunday School and Small Groups for children, youth, and adults. We support one another and keep each other grounded and rooted in faith. Sometimes this means that we do not all agree, but we still love one another, as God has loved us. That is what being part of a community of faith looks like.
As a lifelong disciple for more than 80 years, I understand that religion has changed but the need for it has not. The church is essential for a civilized society, for values and structure, balance, relationships, navigating difficult challenges and service to the community. – John
At KWCC everyone is welcomed with open arms! They welcomed and supported me like family when my husband died, and I experienced major loss, even though I'd only been going to the church for a few months. – Elda
We support one another as we do ministry together. Different. Together.
Kingwood Christian Church is a place where you experience God’s love. It is an inclusive place of love and acceptance. Come as you are and grow in a community of faith dedicated to learning and following the teachings of Jesus. We are committed to learning from each other and serving those in the margins. Together we feed the hungry and shelter the homeless. We have even pushed past our own diverse congregation into the community to learn even more from another community of faith via the Be the Bridge project. Through this program, we are working toward racial healing, equity, and reconciliation. We know that as we continue to ask hard questions and engage in difficult discussions, love is the only way across the divide!
KWCC is a place of unity and love. It is a safe space to ask questions, and an authentic place that reflects its values. Be the Bridge is just one example of living those values by ministering alongside the marginalized. - A Church Member
After being raised in a faith that taught many things that were untrue, including hate in the name of God, I'm working through my faith and my beliefs. KWCC has demonstrated love and support for me and my family. It’s a place where all types of leaders and teachers are lifted up and celebrated, including women and offering opportunities for our LGBT son. - A Church Member
