KCC Youth and Chi Rho Upcoming Activities

If you have not yet been baptized, or if you were baptized young and want to be confirmed through making your own declaration of faith, we have a preparation course beginning in February 2011. 

Basically, you will meet once a month for five months with the pastors and your mentor (we'll provide you a mentor).  The first four gatherings are simply following worship on Sundays (listed below).  The fifth gathering will be the Saturday before Pentecost and will be an overnight retreat.  Pentecost is the day we plan to do the baptisms and/or confirmations. 
 
Please let me know ASAP if you are interested so that we can prepare a mentor for you.  Also, look at the dates below and mark your calendars now.  If you need to ask off of work in advance, please do so.  It is really important for you to be at all the meetings.  Let me know if there is a conflict on the dates.
 
The first four meetings are from 12:00 to 2:00 PM.  The fifth meeting is a Saturday Retreat from 9:00 AM to Sunday morning.  

• February 20, 2011 - lunch with the Youth, but split off for Baptism/Confirmation Class--in room by men's restroom in the main building.  The Youth group will be having a meeting concurrently that will be discussion-oriented.
• March 20, 2011 - same as above
• April 17, 2011 - same as above
• May 22, 2011 - same as above
• June 11-12, 2011 - Retreat - need youth room, fellowship hall, and kitchen with access to the sanctuary during part of the time

 
Part of the reason we only meet once a month is for you and your mentor to reflect on the process between gatherings.  There is a packet of information you get to complete between each meeting.  There are no right or wrong answers, just something to help you reflect on much of what baptism and confirmation mean.
