KCC Adult Sunday School

Bob Cueni ClassDisciples have a very long and proud history of being eager to learn and intelligently discuss God's Word and how it should be lived fully by each of us in our daily lives. The Kingwood Christian Church Adult Sunday Scool Classes provide open and interesting forums for us to learn both the history and modern applications of the timeless lessons taught in the Bible.

Current KCC Adult Sunday School Classes include:

The Marantha Class - Discussion Leader Mark Pike in Sanctuary Building Classroom A (by the Men's Restroom)

This lively and dedicated group is currently studying the the Uniform Series Present Word materials published in partnership by the Disciples, Cumberland Presbyterians, Moravian Church and the Presbyterians (U.S.A.). The materials are organized into quarterly studies and, over the course of a full five year cycle, lessons will be based on scriptures from every book in the Bible. We first examine the scripture, do our best to put the scripture in an historical context considering the culture and politics of the day and finally examine and discuss (really, the heart of the class!) how the scripture applies to today's people of God while we search for the scripture's relevancy to our daily lives. The class is mostly a discussion format but we do receive some background on the geography, history and culture central to the historical time of the scriptures. Class members teach and learn from each other based on their respective life experiences. No Bible knowledge is required - just come, ask questions, share what you want from your experience and enjoy the exploration together. We're never too old to learn or too young to engage the conversation and each Sunday's lesson is largely self-contained.

Folks should feel free to join the Maranatha class any Sunday they can and visitoirs are always welcome. If you would like to learn more about this class, please click here.

The Christian Life Class - Discussion Leader John Cavnar-Johnson in Sanctuary Building Classroom B (by the Women's Restroom)

These feisty and talkative folks study many different authors while always seeking to learn more about how God's Word should and could be applied to current daily life situations. They are currently discussing a book by Fredrich Beuchner that addresses how we find meaning and faith in our daily lives. This class is always open to new thoughts and ideas and would love to have you join them! To learn more about the Christian Life Class, please click here.

Integrate (New Class starting September 11, 2011) - Discussion Leader Mindy Fugarino in the KCC Fellowship Hall, Room 6 (please stay flexible due to ongoing construction!)

This new class is for those who are young-at-heart and seeking to more fully integrate faith in life. We will likely explore different formats and materials over time, but we'll always consider God's word, how we receive God's movement and our response to it. Our Goal will be to Integrate with God and one another. Sound interesting? Come and join us!
