Sisters In StitchesKCC Sisters in Stitches

When a small but feisty group of KCC Disciple women who were also avid needlework enthusiasts were pondering what they could do to minister to our community, they thought "Why don't we start a prayer shawl ministry?" With this wonderful idea, the women gathered together to begin the labor of love by doing various needlecraft projects. Most of the members knit or crochet and there are various skill levels in the group but the fellowship was immediate and they instantly began sharing ideas and patterns while aiding each other to begin their first project.

Sisters In Stitches November 2010

After the first shawl was complete, they arranged to have it blessed during a church service. The following Monday evening, the Sisters banded together to take the shawl and present it to former KCC member Gerry Nelson who was recovering at home after a long hospital stay involving a kidney transplant. Our church members had been praying for her healing and recovery and now presented her with the first blessed shawl as an ongoing reminder of our congregation's faithful prayer devotion. Over the years, many other prayers and shawls have been offered as loving care for church members and non-members in need. If you would like to join this ministry, please click here. We would love to have you!
